Lloyd Hamilton is a sculptor and writer based in SE London. His work centres on the Black male figure, leather, masculinity and the experience of ageing as a Black queer man. He grew up in SE London during the Thatcher years and found his artistic and sexual identity at the NFT on the South Bank, where Derek Jarman's films first drew him toward queer art history. At Flicker he writes about art, desire and the coded language queer culture has always carried through image and object.
