The Q-IFTUK Irish Pride Film Festival returns to London this month with ten short films, a feature and its first awards ceremony

The second edition runs across three nights from 23 to 27 June at the Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith and the Century Club Soho. Short films, panels, a drag extravaganza and Girls & Boys on the closing night.

The Q-IFTUK Irish Pride Film Festival London returns for its second edition this month, running across three nights: Tuesday 23 June at the Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith, and Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June at the Century Club in Soho. The festival is presented by Q-IFTUK, the dedicated LGBTQ+ branch of Irish Film and Television UK, in partnership with Screen Ireland and Culture Ireland.

The programme this year is significantly expanded from the 2025 debut and covers Irish queer filmmaking across two short film collections, an industry panel, a feature screening, a drag extravaganza and, for the first time, the Q-IFTUK Irish Pride Awards.

Tuesday 23 June: Bród Bites 1, Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith

The festival opens with the first of two Irish queer short film collections. Please Be Normal, directed by Eoghan McQuinn, is a satire comedy about dating apps. I Can Fix You by Katie Hughes is an emotionally charged story of identity and fear. Everything Looks Simple From A Distance by Conor Toner is an inventive political fantasy set in 1969 Northern Ireland. Boobs, a short documentary by Nicola Leddy, reclaims the narrative around women's bodies in Ireland with boldness and intimacy. Cazeleōn, directed by James Berkery, reimagines a Hollywood screen test through a queer perspective. A Q&A with the filmmakers, an industry panel and networking follow.

Friday 26 June: Bród Bites 2 and Orla Nothin', Century Club Soho

The evening opens with an industry panel from Fealy Films, discussing their 12-12 Film Challenge: twelve shorts in twelve months, getting working-class filmmakers back on set. The second short film collection follows. Mean Girls Gaelic Parody by Hilary Bowen-Walsh is a playful Irish-language take on the cult teen classic. Night Glances by Sam Ahern is a tender end-of-school-party drama about friendship and romantic realisation. Anziety, directed by David O'Carroll, is a moving portrait of grief, foster care and becoming a drag artist. Father Brennan Is Having a Breakdown!, by Luke Faulkner and Denny Redmond, is a chaotic queer comedy. Outlasting, directed by Lewis Doherty, celebrates the resilience of Jeffrey Dudgeon and Northern Ireland's queer activists. The evening closes with a drag extravaganza from Orla Nothin'.

Saturday 27 June: Girls & Boys and the Q-IFTUK Irish Pride Awards, Century Club Soho

The closing night features a screening of Girls & Boys, written and directed by Donncha Gilmore. The award-winning romantic comedy, set on the streets of night-time Dublin, follows rugby player Jace and aspiring trans filmmaker Charlie as sparks fly and old wounds resurface. Starring Liath Hannon and Adam Lunnon-Collery, the film is tender, funny and quietly radical about trans experience without ever making that its only register. A Q&A with the cast and crew follows. Then the Q-IFTUK Irish Pride Awards 2026, hosted by Derek Murphy, with prizes for Best Performance, Best Short Film and the Audience Choice Award. The jury includes Stephen Kelliher, co-founder of Bankside Films, and director David Freyne, whose credits include Dating Amber and The Cured. DJ Groove Detective closes the night.

Q-IFTUK is led by Derek Murphy. Patrons include Colin Farrell, Saoirse Ronan and Ros Hubbard. The organisation is the only Irish LGBTQ+ arts organisation operating in the UK.
