Over a thousand cyclists rode through London naked today for the first time on a Sunday

The World Naked Bike Ride returned to London today, 14 June 2026, with riders from nine starting points across the city converging at Westminster Bridge. It was the first Sunday edition in over two decades.

The World Naked Bike Ride took to the streets of London today for its 22nd annual ride, and for the first time in over two decades it happened on a Sunday. More than a thousand cyclists gathered at nine starting points across the city, stripped down to varying degrees of birthday suit and rode through central London in a peaceful protest against oil dependency, car culture and the vulnerability of cyclists on British roads.

The switch from Saturday came after years of the traditional date clashing with Trooping the Colour, roadworks, protests and counter-protests that made central London increasingly difficult to navigate. Organisers moved the 2026 ride to Sunday 14 June, running it 30 minutes earlier than usual, and avoided both Hyde Park and Victoria Park where they did not have permission to ride.

Starting points this year were Clapham Junction, Croydon, Deptford, Hackney Wick, Kew Bridge, Regent's Park, Tower Hill and Wellington Arch, alongside an accessible route option near Waterloo for riders with limited mobility. All routes merged into one procession from Westminster Bridge, with the grand finale near Wellington Arch around 5:30pm.

The ride has been a London fixture since 2004. It takes place in more than 200 cities worldwide, but London is widely considered home to one of the largest rides in the world. Last year around 1,200 cyclists took part. The 2026 figure has not yet been confirmed. imdb

The afterparty for riders took place at The Steel Yard under Cannon Street Station from 6pm, with food, drink and life drawing sessions from 8pm.
