A queer 10K walk along the Thames raises funds for MND research this Pride Month

The West London Queer Project's annual Pride Walk returns for its fourth year on 20 June, starting in Hammersmith and finishing at the Black Lion with live performances and a free pint.

West London Queer Project brings back its Pride Month 10K Walk for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday 20 June 2026, raising funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The walk starts at Civic Campus in Hammersmith at 11am, follows the Thames south through Barnes and Mortlake, crosses Chiswick Bridge and returns along the north bank through Dukes Meadows and Chiswick Mall to finish at the Black Lion pub.

The MND focus came from a personal place. WLQP CEO Aubrey Crawley learned about a close friend's MND diagnosis while planning the first walk in 2023 and redirected the event into a fundraiser for the cause. MND is a life-shortening neurological condition affecting the nerves that control movement, causing progressive muscle weakness across walking, talking, eating and breathing. The MND Association supports patients, families and carers while funding research into the disease.

Following the walk, a celebration runs from 1pm to 5pm hosted by YsHee Black, with performances from Adam All, Tom Heath and Lola Lasagne. Each ticket includes entry to both the walk and afterparty, a Progressive Pride Flag and a pint of lager or soft drink.

Gathering from 10am at Civic Campus, 1 Unity Square, W6 9JU. Nearest station is Hammersmith on the Piccadilly, District, Hammersmith and City lines.
